PPWR validation warning: Design labelling marking shape

What the check requires

Where a sorting/material label is declared, it must be one of the recognised marking states. The harmonised pictograms and their format (Art 12) are set by an implementing act that is not yet adopted (applies from 12 Aug 2028) — this is a shape check on declared data, never a compliance verdict.

A warning — it does not block deterministic validation, but it remains recorded for review.

Why this is reported

This appears when the submitted value is outside the allowed set carried by the versioned rule. The deterministic PPWR validator reports it as rule ppwr.design.labelling-marking-shape. The requirement and citation come from versioned profile 1.0.3; Clearlane does not replace them with an AI-generated verdict.

How it gets fixed

Check the source system and replace the value with an allowed value identified by the rule; do not map it by guesswork. Run validation again. Clearlane never fills a compliance value by guessing.
