Privacy notice
This site sells EU compliance, so a third-country request on page load is not a detail here — it is the product being tested. This page states exactly what happens to data when you use the website. Where a claim is checkable, it is written so you can check it.

The short version
- There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising technology and no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
- The free file check runs entirely in your browser. Your file is never uploaded — the check works with your network disconnected.
- Three third parties receive anything at all: the host that serves the page, and two map-tile providers, and only when a map renders.
- The AI advisor is the one place you send us text, and only when you type into it.
Who is responsible
The operator of this website is the controller for the processing described here. The operator’s identity and address are published in the imprint. See the imprint.
For any question about your data, or to exercise a right below, write to hello@clearlane.eu. It reaches the people who build the system.
Serving the page
The site is static and is served from Cloudflare Pages. Like any web server, it processes the request data your browser sends — IP address, the page requested, user agent, referrer and timestamp — to deliver the page and to keep the service available and secure. Cloudflare acts as processor for this. No profile is built from it and it is not combined with anything else.
What is NOT here
No analytics product, no tag manager, no advertising or retargeting pixel, no social plug-in, no A/B testing tool, and no cookie set by this site. Fonts are served from this domain rather than a font provider, so not even a font CDN learns that you visited. This is why the site has no cookie banner: there is nothing to ask you to consent to.
One exception, and it stays on your device: if you use the AI advisor, your conversation is kept in your browser’s sessionStorage so it survives moving between pages. It is not a cookie, it is never sent anywhere as storage, and closing the tab ends it.
The free tools
The EUDR file check reads your file into your browser’s memory and does everything there — parsing, conversion, validation, repair and the map. There is no upload step, and the repaired file you download is assembled in the browser from the same in-memory data. Close the tab and it is gone.
The one external request the tool makes is for map tiles, when your plots are drawn on a map. A tile request carries the coordinates of the map view and your IP address to the tile provider — never your file, and never the contents of a plot. The providers are CARTO (basemap, over OpenStreetMap data) and MapTiler (satellite imagery).
The scope scanner searches the customs nomenclature inside your browser as well. What you type into its search box is not sent to us.
The AI advisor
The advisor is the only part of this website where something you write leaves your browser, and only when you choose to type into it. Your message is sent to our own API and from there to a language model hosted in the EU (AWS Bedrock, Frankfurt region) to produce an answer.
Do not put personal data or confidential business data into it. It is an orientation tool over cited public rules; it does not need, and should not be given, anything about a named person.
The model explains and cites. It never produces a compliance verdict — those come from the deterministic engine reading versioned, cited rules, which is a design rule of the whole platform and not a property of this page.
Why we are allowed to do this
Serving the page and keeping it available and secure rests on our legitimate interest in operating a working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Map tiles and the advisor are triggered only by an action you take, and are necessary to deliver the function you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Nothing here relies on consent, because nothing here does anything that would require it.
How long anything is kept
Server request logs are kept only as long as needed to run and secure the service, and are not used to build a profile. Data you enter in the browser-side tools is never received by us at all, so there is nothing to retain. Advisor messages are processed to answer you; they are not used to train a model.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to the address above and say what you want; you do not need to use any particular form of words. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
Changes to this notice
This notice describes the site as it is built today. If the site starts doing something else with data, this page changes in the same release — a privacy notice that has drifted from the code is a false statement, not a stale document.
